stayed up till 1:30 am to finish this book (and then woke up at 7:30 in spite of myself. ugh) it was SOO good. i loved elliot so much, his jokes, his disillusionment with portal fantasy tropes, his passion in learning about other species(mermaid anthropology!!!!). it was so funny, i haven't laughed out loud at a book as much as I did at this one in a long time. and elliot's loneliness really got to me bc it's been a lonely semester for me...AND. LOVED THE ILLUSTRATIONS!!!
