Endless Night by Agatha Christie

2.0

The slow pace of the story ruined the entire book. It was very, very slow. This book was such a disappointment that it made me question if this was even written by Agatha Christie.

The relationship between the protagonist and his lover was unnecessarily stretched and prolonged. The book was divided into three main parts and Christie dedicated the first two parts to tell us about how the two lovers met, fell in love and got married, something that was really blown out of proportion. It would've been more appropriate if the writer dedicated at least one part for the relationship, not 70% of the book.

In the third part, Christie finally adjusted her focal point on the real plot. However, everything was stuffed at the very end and even the twist had lost its touch. And since the focus was how perfect the relationship was between the two main characters, the plot twist pretty much anti-climatic.
