The writing is dramatic but the story is not. I was swept up in the setting more than the plot. In one chapter, she described the sky as “blue velvet” and it took my breath away. It picked up the last 4 chapters then ended kind of anticlimactically. But based on her vivid descriptions of the countryside, I would love to visit Sardinia one day!
