Such an intricately woven story! It boggles the mind how someone could write something like this!! Love love LOVE the character of ADDIE!

Adeline LaRue is ahead of her time and does not want to live the status quo for women of her time - an arranged marriage at a young age, raising children until she’s old, then dying an exhausted old woman. So she decides to run away on the day of her wedding make a deal with a god in exchange for her freedom. But things go awry, and Adeline’s actions lock her into a life far different from the one she planned.

You HAVE to read this book!! Historical FANTASY…totally new genre for me!

Favorite Quote:
“The darkness claimed he’d given her freedom, but really, there is no such thing for a woman, not in a world where they are bound up inside their clothes, and sealed inside their homes, a world where only men are given leave to roam.”
