Mac vs. PC by Fletcher DeLancey

2.0

It reads like an Apple ad and a condescending one at that. I certainly hope Fletcher was paid for her less than unbiased product placement. The romance isn't enough to overcome the blatant Windows bashing, just for the record I use both Apple and Windows products, and while I freely admit Windows can be frustrating I found myself rolling my eyes every time Anna endorsed how wonderful her Apple products were.

There are spoilers here for the story itself.

SpoilerThe ending falls flat, as I found it unrealistic. Elizabeth says she locked her keys in her car, but I found it hard to believe a Provost doesn't make enough money to drive a car with keyless entry, especially when it's later revealed that she drives a Prius. Also she manages to call AAA and a taxi but says she can't call Anna because she doesn't have her cellphone number, but it doesn't occur to her to call the coffee shop they're meeting at and leave her a message? Please. Of-course if she had done that we couldn't have had the contrived moment where Anna gets a taste of her own medicine. Also when Anna is giving Elizabeth her reasons for not showing up the timeline is wrong. They refer to only the first week they met but they'd met for three weeks before Anna doesn't show for the date. I think this timeline might carryover from a previously version of the story. Not her best work.
