Angels and Ages: A Short Book about Darwin, Lincoln, and Modern Life by Adam Gopnik

3.0

I think I would have given it 2 1/2 stars were that option available. Angels and Ages is half about Abraham Lincoln and Adam Gopnik writes for the New Yorker, so the potential was there. But Gopnik is either blind to or unconcerned with the presuppositions he brings to his subjects, which results in significant leaps in logic throughout. Even though I'd only give it half the available stars, I still think it's a worthwhile read - I just wish Gopnik had taken more care.
