Curran by Gordon Andrews, Ilona Andrews

Curran covers books 1 through 4. I read each snipet from Curran after reading the "official" scene and it was fun and interesting to get Curran's point of view.

There are also 2 snippets included that take place in between Magic Strikes and Magic Bleeds. One has to do with Jim putting together the pieces of Kate's history after the "sword incident" and sharing her origins with Curran. It's also interesting because when Kate shares her history with him in Magic Bleeds - the reader is aware that he is already aware of it - but he appreciates knowing that she trusts him enough to tell him. The second snippet is the story of events that transpired that made Curran late for dinner. Without this story, the reader goes into Magic Bleeds thinking as Kate does that Curran stood her up intentionally.

The final snippets come from Magic Bleeds; 1 is a re-telling and the other takes place after the story ends and provides additional details. In Magic Bleeds the council scene ended with Curran saying "Explain yourselves" - and my thought was "here? you're ending here? I want to hear them explain themselves"!!!! So in the added snippet you get to hear more from the council meeting and Curran's handling of what he perceives to be Mahon's betrayal.

Writing Curran's POV and making it available for free was a very thoughtful and generous gesture on the part of the authors; and it is very much appreciated.
