Truly, the marvelous excerpts from her mother's letters are the treasure of this slim little book. Even Colette says so! A bittersweet revelation of the freedom and delights of solitude after the disappointments of love. A fascinating contrast to all the Henry Miller i'd been consuming. I can only imagine how delicious this is in French. Ah, in another lifeā€¦
