The magic of Fifth Season was the novelty for me. It's still unlike anything I've ever read. That obviously wanes the further you get into a series. I can't really put my finger on it, but Obelisk Gate was just notably less captivating. I liked Schaffa and Nassun, but Essun's plot in this book was beyond boring to me. I'd say I was perfectly indifferent towards this book.
