The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse

4.0

This was my first 'Jeeves' book and it was funnier than the one I read about Blandings. The witty statements and paragraphs throughout the book make you laugh so hard. I look forward to reading other books in this series. Sentences though pretty long with words that we hardly use these days, were still very funny.

Some of my favourites from the book:
"Old Bassett, after a quick look in my direction to see that I wasn't stealing the carpet, turned to the constable again."

"... staring at me from time to time as if I had been a ticket-of-leave man who had got in by crashing the gate and might be expected, unless carefully watched, to pocket a spoon or two, ..."

"... Just how safe will human life be in the vicinity of those feet, assuming - as one is forced to assume - that they will inherit the combined loopiness of two such parents? ..."

"Sir?"
"I wish you wouldn't keep saying "Sir?""
