The Wonderful Adventures of Suzuki Beane by Sandra Scoppettone, Louise Fitzhugh

4.0

Recommended by my niece. Feels like riding a time machine to the 1950s. I am intrigued by the message; a nod to the principles of the Beat Generation -learnt something new today! And currently experiencing... movement-shock(?), this reminds me of Guy DeBord's Situationist movement in [b:The Society of the Spectacle|381440|The Society of the Spectacle|Guy Debord|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1370746722l/381440._SY75_.jpg|371226] though. Question: the characters, they are kids right… but why do they act like young adults..? Is this.. normal for that movement? (apologies for the ignorance)
