Urchin and the Heartstone by M.I. McAllister

5.0

This book is even better than the original. The plot is unique, the characters vivid, more of Urchin's past is revealed and the resolution is wonderful. Never before have I read a children's series with such a good sense of spirituality, in the form of the 'Heart'. It is a difficult topic for children's literature to handle religion and this book handles it incredibly well. It brings a sense of hope to the protagonists on their perilous journeys.
