Poor Gregor Samsa...
The fact that his family never entertained the possibility that even if he wasn't able to speak he would still be able to understand shows they were somewhat willing to easily forget all about his humanity.
All of this while Gregor is blaming himself for the imposition of his new condition upon his family.
I felt happy when Gregor discovers the small joy of hanging from the ceiling. The way it was phrased was cute.
I was pleasantly surprised by how easy to read this was.
3.5 because as widely popular and relevant as The Metamorphosis is, and even though I enjoyed it, I may have been expecting something more grand.
