The Lost World by Michael Crichton

5.0

I cannot get this book out of my head. It was just so striking how different The Lost World was compared to screen adaption(which in my opinion was entertaining but objectively a bad movie).

I really get the feeling that Crichton understood the scientific research that was put into this novel. He really understood the scientific and academic communities as well. Chrichton included wonderful teenage characters as well as some badass female characters.

This novel was everything I wanted from the Jurassic Park series. It was terrifying, yet enthralling, and I couldn't get enough. It touched on topics of generational knowledge, feminism, and issues in academia. There were also corporate espionage and government conspiracy theories. The Lost World had such a satisfying ending as well. I will definitely be reading more of Crichton's work in the future.
