I recently read a short sequel-esk story for The Island of Dr. Moreau, so I thought I should check out the original version. Well in this case the kid's abridged version, you only have so much time in the day.
Considering I've never read the original version, this graphic novel version seems like it covered all the major plot points and conveyed the central character's emotions pretty well. I will definitely be read The Daughter of Dr. Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia in the near future.
I do appreciate that this middle-grade book had a fair bit of extra information about the author in the back as well as writing prompts and discussion questions. Hopefully reading the graphic novel will inspire readers to explore more of the classics.
