I found this book very enjoyable. I was expecting a typical cozy(nothing wrong with that) but found a lot more complexity then I looked for. The story has a tinge of magical realism in that the main character can start to fix you by recommending books that will heal you, she works with a baker in town who bakes a special scone just for you that starts the process. These two aren’t friends they just share the same talent- that changes when someone they intended to help ends up being killed. Foul play is suspected by them and a few others but the sheriff wants to call it an accident or S**icide so they have to band together to figure out what really happened. The main character is not used to letting people into her life at this point and there’s a great arc about her letting people in little by little. Besides all of that this book is written by a lover of books, that comes through with all of the book quotes and references. I found myself smiling when I recognized a book reference and jotting down books I want to read in the future when I didn’t.There’s also a love interest and a hint of spice which was plenty for me and I really hope the other books in the series don’t add too much.  I plan on reading  more from this author soon.
