A story about survival and resilience but more importantly about humanity and connection. I’ve always been drawn to gritty apocalyptic stories that focus more on the people than anything else. This graphic novel is a quick read but paints an incredibly vivid environment where a child learns to grow and survive, with the help of an older stranger. Bleak, but at the end, ultimately a hopeful story of resilience.

Content warnings for abuse/sexual assault though.
