Just no. Shitty characters. Boring plot. Nonsensically short chapters. Random date rape story. It felt like these characters should have been in a bad 50's pulp novel, not a book written in 2013. I hated everyone and was constantly hoping for misfortune to befall the whole lot of them. The fact that any of these characters got a happy ending pissed me off. Ugh.
The cover of this book touts Ben Bova as a "six-time Hugo Award winner", which I was trying to figure out how that was possible after reading this book. Turns out all his Hugo wins are for editing, so that explains a lot.
