Out of the Wreckage: A New Politics in the Age of Crisis by George Monbiot

5.0

The Politics of Belonging

Monbiot is the ultimate pragmatist.

In How Did We Get Into This Mess, he levied some incredible attacks on our contemporary world, via a multitude of essays, whilst also highlighting some very interesting facts as yet unknown to most readers (including myself) about how gravely messed up our current system is.

Here, in Out of the Wreckage, he brings a truly impressive plan to our attention as to how we can move forward from our current global predicament. I have a healthy wad of notes penned whilst reading this work, which is to be expected, as Monbiot outdoes himself with being not the bearer of bad news, so much as the bringer of "why-the-hell-aren't-we-implimenting-these-ideas-right-bloody-now" sort of news. I can't really explain my gratitude to him for writing this.

It's given me hope.
