There has never been a book to end differently more than this one. I bawled my way through the last pages and wanted to change the direction it was taking so badly. I loved these two characters - Juno and Legs - so much and I know without a doubt I will never forget them.
This book is dark, gritty, and raw - exactly how I like my books to be! But, truly, it is not for the faint of heart. It hurts to read. It hurts to know the amount of pain these kids go through. And even though the ending is not hopeful, I loved the sense of belonging, loyatly, and unconditional love between these two. From the beginning, no extreme was too far to protect one another...but in the end, there are also some things we can't protect each other from.
This is an underrated gem for sure, and it would have been in my top 10 had I read it sooner. It will now live on my all-time faavorites shelf...a book I will never forget.
