RWBY (2019-) #2 by Mirka Andolfo, Marguerite Bennett, Arif Prianto

3.0

Finger’s crosses this series picks up the pace a little... it’s based on my favorite anime ever, and I’m really rooting for it! Sadly, RWBY #2 might’ve been more of a dud than the first.

In this volume, there are two stories: one of Yang coming to terms with losing her arm, and the other of Blake’s and Adam’s whirlwind “romance.” The unfortunate problem is that neither story was long enough to allow the reader to feel any real emotion about what was happening. Everything just sped by, like the author is still laying down the groundwork for when the real story begins.

So I take it back. I guess what I need is for RWBY to slow down? Wait, no... speed up? I can’t tell! It’s doing both at the worst times possible!
