The Secret History by Donna Tartt

5.0

i read the last 20 pages of this on my metro ride home which was an absolute MISTAKE because i really was out here gasping and tearing up in public.

i have heard about how good this novel is sooo much and i get it now, i thought i wouldn’t but i do. like i still don’t understand why cause what could possibly be so entertaining about a couple of pretentious greek students literally just committing a crime? you literally have to read to find out cause i was hooked from the very first line. LMAO this sounds like a brand deal okay

THIS is how you write (i literally wouldn’t actually know though cause all i have to base this opinion on is the endless amount of books i’ve read).the first line basically spoils the book but what makes it intriguing is wanting to find out how they got to that point? and there’s some unexpected things (of course)

this was perfect with the rainy weather we’ve been having and it just elevated my experience that much more. so so good, i have no complaints. the only one i would say is that it literally felt like i was reading the bible at times because of how many (thin) pages there are and how small the words were
