This Impossible Light by Lily Myers

4.0

Literally read this in one sitting. Well, an hour of productive lying down. I couldn't sleep last night so I decided to give this a try.

I didn't think I'd be into this because I don't really like reading in verses. I like my stories in paragraphs but surprisingly, this worked for me. The writing made it easy for me to finish this quick and read the story faster.

The problem with verses, though, is the limited space for dialogues. I want to read more conversations between Ivy and the people she interacts with daily, but it's hard to get a glimpse of her relationship with anyone because of the lack of dialogues. It just felt like the readers were living inside Ivy's mind 100% of the time, which I'm sure could be the intention of the writer.

I enjoyed this tho and it shed a light regarding some of the things I didn't know I should really be paying attention to now. I, too, am on a very strict diet and programmed fasting, which could soon border into disordered eating. Last year, I went thru a medical exam and surprised to find out the lowest BP I had in years. I didn't pay much attention to it until I read this and found out that a low BP (and low hemoglobin count, which I had as well) could be the effects of disordered eating and too much dieting.

Thank God I picked up this book. Now, I have to pore over my dieting regime and go thru everything I'm not doing correctly.
