I didn't know a whole lot about the Witcher series before reading this book, having only played a bit of the very first game, however, I found it very enjoyable.
Instead of having one long story, the book is broken up into several bite sized short stories, very loosely connected from each other. A lot of the stories also had fairy tale themes throughout which I found very cool whenever I spotted them.
As for the stories themselves, they're fast-paced and well written, even for a translation, I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
