A cute story in a terrific setting featuring a delightful set of characters. While I've never been to a Renaissance Faire, I am familiar with the concept and it was fun to be brought into this world due to Emily's involvement. I typically prefer my romances to be told via dual perspective, but seeing everything through Emily's eyes really worked since she was so new to the event and it helped me understand the full impact of her negative first impression of Simon. The Ren Faire atmosphere and the different personas adopted by its participants adds an interesting layer of complexity to the tale: is Simon really falling for Emily or is it merely Captain Ian Blackthorne flirting with Emma to further enhance the experience for the guests? In addition to the romance, I liked the ongoing plot of Emily seeking a place to belong within this small town and building relationships with new friends as well as strengthening existing ones with her family. The major conflict between the pair is a bit silly, yet the ending is rather sweet and I wouldn't mind reading more from this series to extend my time in Willow Creek.
