In the Middle of Somewhere by Roan Parrish

Waffling between 3.5 and 4 Stars

By no means was this perfect.

It's long.
Long on exposition and long on the ramblings of MC Daniel - both his inside and his outside voice.

It's slow.
It takes its sweet time building up Daniel and Rex's relationship. Though sparks fly fast, these guys circle each other round and round.

It's just a tad off.
At times it felt like things didn't quite line up in terms of pacing, voice, motivations, and descriptions.

But....

It's off the charts hot.
Like panting, seat squirming, holy smokes. This takes shower scenes to a whole new level. Twice. *fans self*

It's funny and emotional.
Just enough angst to whet the appetite but thankfully, no over the top misunderstandings. Certain secondary characters were awesome. We can only hope that they'll feature in future books, bringing some great laugh out loud moments and snark.

And....

It's got the best book boyfriend ever.
Rex is a fucking dreamboat. He's the sweetest, swooniest, growliest, gentle giant I've read to date.

Thus overall, quite enjoyable despite a few niggles. The smex and my new book boyfriend made it sooooo worthwhile. Hands off!
