What I loved about this story was the different points of view used throughout. We saw the stories of both Tom and his mother-in-law, Linda, being told as they take seperate paths. This gave me a deeper insight into their actions, day to day lives, triumphs and failures. And believe me there are a lot of failures along the way.

Seeing Tom struggling with life as a full time father is hard at times, but also funny as well. He ends up relying on a lot of secondary characters, some of whom will have a far bigger impact on his life than he first realises.

This is basically a story about a parent reconnecting with his children. But it is more than that. It's also the story of a woman breaking ties and attempting to move on with her life, of children trying to accept a new life without someone they love, and of a family torn apart by secrets they discover along the way.

The story itself is a good one, and I'm so glad I read it.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.
