Great piece of teenage/ YA fiction - all my favourite elements were here: Victorian London, Magic, Horror elements, a young plucky protagonist. Some of the descriptions would be a bit too grotesque for me to read back when I was 13-14, but I was a bit skittish as a child, so if you're a bit more robust, it's all good.
