I Never Said I Loved You by Rhik Samadder

challenging dark emotional funny hopeful inspiring reflective sad slow-paced

4.0

For some reason it took me a long time to get through but I did enjoy it a lot. I'd say this is the best portrayal of sexual trauma and eating disorders I've ever read. I tend to steer well clear of those topics because it's too difficult to read for me, but Rhik Samadder tackled them so sensitively and warmly and really normalised the whole experience. It might be cliche to say, but I think he's so brave to come out about what he's been through. I do feel like some of what he said was a bit pretentious and the humour seemed forced at times.
