There is a lot of metaphors and deeper meaning here that all sum up to starting over and becoming you after a toxic relationship. And how the toxic relationship can kinda make you toxic too. But in a…necessary way? Idk man.
Yet, at the same time, this book was mostly about ghost sex. So. There’s that.
Uh. I liked it? It was so weird but like super duper calm in its weirdness. I loved that. I’ll probably reread it sometime in life. Not sure if it is worthy of 3.5 stars because….again….was it a metaphor or just descriptive ghost sex? And if it was a metaphor….did it discuss abuse and the over use of sex in toxic relationships well? I see a lot of people ranting about how this book was a bad metaphor for toxic relationships. And maybe it was. It probably was.
At the end of the day? I’m choosing to see it as a weird ghost novel. If that gets me cancelled, so be it. I just liked the eerie calmness.
