I Talk Like a River by Jordan Scott

4.0

Type of read: Commuter Read.

What made me pick it up: Looking for books to fulfill the April TN R.E.A.D.S challenges (poetry).

Overall rating: I enjoyed 'I Talk Like a River' as an audiobook, which I would highly recommend. This was less like reading a book and more like attending a performance. Jordan Scott did an absolutely amazing job bringing their book to life. I did find some of the background music to be distracting. I think the mix was just off, I would have liked if the background music was a little softer so I could concentrate more on the written words. At only 18 minutes, it's obviously a quick read but dang it packs some punch. I would definitely recommend 'I Talk Like a River,' especially if you're trying to share or learn about our differences and how they make us who we are. This is a heartwarming, quick read.
