The Dark and Deadly Pool by Joan Lowery Nixon

4.0

I bought this as a teenager and hadn't got round to reading it that I remembered. It is not horror as I assumed but a mystery. Maybe sort of misbranded as teen horror as that was so popular in the nineties. I really enjoyed it. Not so much of that jumpy chapter endings of Point Horror, more like a Sweet Dreams with a mystery thrown in.

Stuff I loved:

* Side characters were really fun and quite well fleshed out.
* That security enforced everyone to have clear plastic handbags - where would you even buy one of those?!
* The hilarious terrible descriptions our heroine gave the police, every time.

Yes the plot was kind of obvious, but there was a lot of enjoyment to be had here. Would recommend.
