Hamlet, Prince of Denmark by David Hewson, A.J. Hartley

3.0

The performance of this audiobook was excellent (4 stars); the content, not so much (2 stars). The epilogues by the authors stressed how much they wanted to turn this story into the original action-packed tale it was before William Shakespeare got his hands on it and turned Hamlet into the original emo boy. I wasn't very impressed with their changes: Hamlet doesn't have monologues in which he expresses his tumultuous feelings; rather,

. To be fair, I am a huge fan of the Shakespeare play, but for me, the authors worked a little too hard at being clever, removing the poetry (literally and figuratively) of the great play.
