A brilliant love story that made me feel as hopeful as I did devastated. Each chapter, separated by several months and even years, feels like its own short story. The final chapter,  written from the point of a view of an entirely new character we hadn’t encountered before, threw me initially but it ends up bringing together the whole thing beautifully. In many ways, a wonderful bookend to Tsiolkas’ first novel Loaded.
