The French Lieutenant's Woman by John Fowles

2.0

ho hum, this one was very difficult for me to get interested in. after about 100 pages I was finally interested enough to read on and discover if the "superior male mind" or the "manipulative" female emotions would win the day. The style of jumping from "modern" era to the Victorian era of the book setting did not really work for me. I did find it interesting that the modern was still relatively modern today as it was in the late sixties when the book was published. This change slowly. I was also more than a little confused at the ending. I didn't mind the alternatives written but had a little difficulty with the flow. That could have just been me though because I caught myself skipping sections of the narrative due to boredom
