Demigods of Olympus: An Interactive Adventure by Rick Riordan

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE EBOOK, WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER ZANE - NOT THE APP.

Demigod's of Olympus is whilst a short read and more of a filler for in between the rest of the series, was still rather fun and enjoyable. We meet & travel with Zane Carver and Sam Underwood, a demigod & a satyr who seem very similar to Percy & Grover in The Lightning Thief.

However, I did find the book never left a lasting impression on me, and the plot and character development seemed at most levels quite basic. It seemed to be a bit of a search for an identity type book and the end result - finding Zane's demigod parent, I felt like there wasn't too much of a build up and any god or goddess would have been placed there and I wouldn't have been very surprised. Both characters had very similar personalities to Percy & Grover, and apart from the pair never visiting Camp Half-Blood, the storyline seemed rather generic to a Camp Half-Blood chronicles book.

Also, the choices that you had to make, were rather basic and didn't have too much to do with the overall plot. And if the choice ended up being too out of line, Rick would have you turn around and choose again.

However, if you aren't planning on reading it critically, aren't particularly that fussed on the choose your own adventure part, and maybe want to feel a bit of nostalgia for the Lightning Thief days, I would recommend it to you.
