Read this right after finishing "Hold Still". Both are similar thematically, revolving around a girl dealing with a loved one's death. This book is more about familial love, and whether you truly know who your family members are. I enjoyed how Marin and Mabel's interactions were written, and how they evidently care so much about the other. The emotional beats and Marin's internal monologue were poignant but impactful with their clarity and accuracy.
