Long ago, when I still believed that Twilight was amazing and that writing fanfiction would make all my dreams come true, the Beautiful Creatures series crossed my path. I forgot twilight. I fell in love with Ethan and Lena and their love story. It was my favorite series ever and it wasn't until ACOTAR and Throne of Glass came along that I stopped naming it as my favorite series ever.
But, I never finished reading it. So, when I won a giveaway and 15 dollars of books on book depository I knew what to get. Ridley has always been one of my favorite characters in the series. Whenever someone asks me what supernatural creature I want to be, I always answer siren and it's because of her. And that alone already was a pretty good reason to like this book.
I enjoyed being in Ridley's mind and reading from her point of view. She's exactly the kind of lady I expected her to be and wanted her to be and I liked how she saw the world and herself. I enjoyed her emotional struggles, even though they were only written briefly and quickly and not very layered and deep. I enjoyed how Ridley is not a 100% nice person and does never become that. She's who she is and that's why we love her so much.
This story is a light and easy read. The plot isn't very complicated or layered. The storyline isn't too dragged out or deep. But it's amusing and entertaining and most of all quick. I really enjoyed myself to the fullest and I can't wait until I can order the next book, because that cliffhanger was just downright mean!
