Read this with my student book club. It started out fine but gosh, it just drags on and there are so many weird twists that had me rolling my eyes. Like all the allergy kids who are somehow not allergic to the plants that every single person has terrible allergies to and then, what, The characters were flat and underdeveloped. No matter how hard I tried, I could not tell Anaya and Petra apart. I can see why this book has circulated well but no one seems interested in continuing with books 2 & 3 in the series.
