The Haunting of Alma Fielding: A True Ghost Story by Kate Summerscale

4.0

I try not to let goodreads reviews suade how I choose my books too much, but I almost didn't pick this up because of the low reviews...and im glad I did anyways.

I think the bad reviews are people who picked up a NONFICTION book and expected like actual ghosts?

Anyways, I first heard about Nandor Fodor, the Hungarian psychoanalyst, when I learned about Gef the talking mongoose...and I was happy to learn more about this weird guy. I loved the bizzare old timey science in this and the fact that there was a National Labratory for Psychical research which they referred to as "The Institute". I had a lot of fun reading this.

If you're looking for real ghosts, you should probably stick to fiction.
