The Book of Kings by Cynthia Voigt, Iacopo Bruno

3.0

I received of a copy of this book by the book's publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Before writing my review, I want to make it clear that I didn't realise this was part of a series. I haven't read the first two books in the series but nevertheless enjoyed this book as a stand alone.

This was a really enjoyable story and I loved the author's writing style. The story keeps you guessing until the very end which is always something I love. I really enjoyed the beginning of the story but somewhere in between it lost its fun. I felt as though there needed to be more action and adventure in Andesia and there was so much potential. Whilst I enjoyed the story, I feel as though I need to have read the previous two books to have fully appreciated this. I do feel as though children will enjoy reading these books, though at times this was a little confusing.
