A Pound of Flesh by Fred Venturini

3.0

This was such a short read but really packed a huge punch (literally.) The overall plot wasn't particularly unique, but definitely had a unique and terrifyingly creative twist, which I enjoyed. For me, being a parent myself, the real horror began when the daughters were brought into the picture. I can't imagine anything worse than the position the parents were put into. Absolutely horrifying. I was holding my breath (no pun intended) waiting to see what was going to come next. A great read, I just wish it was longer with more buildup at the beginning and between all of the basement "moments." Definitely a good one if you're wanting a quick fear-inducing read!
