The End of All Things by John Scalzi

3.0

I love the old mans war series. I love the universe and the people in it. I was very intrigued by "The Life of the Mind," the first section of the book. The psychology of what it must have been like to be just a brain is terrifying and intriguing. I think it was great to see Rafe have a plan and escape with just his mind. I was disappointed we did not get to hear more of the rest of the book from his perspective.

I also loved the ending of "A Hallow Union." I did not see that coming at all and it was brilliant.

The rest of the book felt genuine to the old mans war series but I wasn't invested in it. So good but not great like a lot of the other books. There are huge upheaval and revolutions happening and well the end of a lot of things if not all things but I just didn't feel like there was enough push back from those with the old establishment power. Good but not great.
