It's fine. I found it boring. Another, "I finished because of bookclub" entry.

I didnt think January was compelling as a main character. Her struggles were relatable, but I didn't feel them nor did I care.

I cried at the dad's letters towards the end of them. I thought his comments about loving his daughter were sweet, but everything else was perfunctory.

Grumpy Gus. Literally. Then, suddenly, he's not grumpy. He's a misunderstood sad boi who's always been in love with January! Who knew? He still sucks at communicating until the very end. Eh. Whatever.

January herself was a concerningly sloppy drunk, but then she suddenly isn't?

Sonya and the dad are pieces of shit, not specifically for cheating, for putting all this crap on Januay.

Sonya never needed to talk to January. She certainly didn't need to be rude and weirdly bitter about the dad caring more about his only child. How dare! Amirite?! Ugh.

The dad leaving his fucking mistress to deliver his final letter. Absolute trash person move! Fucking trash trash trash. Major dislike. Gross behavior.

Honestly, this was a lot of nothing. It was fine, but I do feel like I wasted my time.
