Betsy and Joe by Maud Hart Lovelace

3.0

Officially, I don't like Joe. I'm happy for Betsy in her happiness with him, but he's an ass and never won me over in this or the last 3 books. This book even more than last moves Betsy's friends to the background, and that makes the charm of this story a little bit more dim than previous books. I think part of it is Betsy growing up, but also more generally the perspective is changing. I'm not as excited for the last two books of the series as I have been for previous stories, but of course I will finish up the series.
