Breathe, Annie, Breathe by Miranda Kenneally

4.0

I've wanted to read Breathe, Annie, Breathe since I fist heard about it, even knowing I had the previous books in this series to read. When I got the approval email I was shocked as I really didn't expect it.
From the beginning of Breathe, Annie, Breathe I found it easy to sympathise with Annie, going from a non-runner, to training to run a marathon takes a lot of courage and determination, I won't even run for a bus never mind attempting to run a marathon. The struggles she goes through felt real, and really came across strongly thorough the pages, but so does her strength, determination, and the reasons for wanting to do this.

As the story progresses, not only does the struggle become harder for Annie, but she realises she is starting to have feelings for Jeremiah, so she is torn between feeling guilty over feeling these, when she should still have these feelings for Kyle. I loved the initial friendship between Annie and Jeremiah, he is quick to jump in and help with some first aid, and that is the spark that ignites the friendship.

Breathe, Annie, Breathe is a story about loss, love, and strength. I laughed, I cried, and then cried some more. Annie is such a likable character that it's so easy to become emotionally invested in her life, and when Jeremiah is being an ass and taking stupid risks, I wanted to shake some sense into him for Annie's sake.

Final Verdict
Breathe, Annie, Breathe is an enjoyable read that is easy to relate to, and also become emotionally invested in. I really can't wait to read the next book in this series.
