• so much happening all the time… multiple seasons of gossip girl and pretty little liars packaged in one book (and one family) 
• protecting lily from her own family isn’t enough i need a gun
• jennifer lynn barnes does love writing moments where her characters speak quietly
• the naturals is well-written as is, but i enjoyed that jlb’s writing got even more clever in this series
• this is rated relatively low only because i don’t typically love complex family drama and southern high society, plus the family tree (especially in this book) well and truly confused me—read it purely for jlb’s mystery writing
