I thought that this was a more unique take on the traditional Second World War spy fiction, which I really appreciated. Switching between the past and the present made for a much different approach, however I'm ultimately unconvinced about how much this really did for the overall storyline.
The entire mafia/mob subplot felt unnecessary to telling Elinor White's story, and the author could have done so just as well, if not better, by leaving this out altogether.
Nonetheless, it was nice to see someone try to do something different.
