I really wanted this to be scary but it just wasn't. Regardless of whether or not you think the things in the book actually happened, this was really disappointing - full of details, told in chronological order, but without anything to make you feel... anything.... beyond being annoyed that the family stayed as long as they did. Two stars because I read this so quickly - I kept waiting for it to get scary, so I flew through it.
