Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy by Pablo Hidalgo

5.0

An educational read with some gorgeous art. Most propaganda art is inspired by real pieces which is interesting but I would have liked to see more information about Mandalorian art. Although Sabine's art appears in the book which is great to see especially as Rebels is often disregarded as a media I would have liked more on Mandalore.

It was a good addition about cubism and Mandalore though but there is a mural that I would have loved to see in the book.

The Clone Wars art was mainly why I bought the book and it was good to see an author expand on the mistakes of the Jedi and the public perception of the Jedi during the Clone Wars. The Separatist propaganda was just as compelling and pointed out the obvious flaws of the Republic which made it more realistic.

Moreover, the Empire propaganda was very striking especially the ones with Darth Vader and supports canon regarding the fear citizens had towards him eg seeing him as a machine.

Altogether a good read which can appeal to all Star Wars fans as it covers all the trilogies and most characters.
